poortom productions is keeping Shakespeare alive by bringing new and exciting Shakespeare programs into New York City Public Schools for students in the most under-served schools in partnership with The Shakespeare Society. We know from experience that bringing actors into the classroom makes Shakespeare fun for students and teachers alike. We are dedicated to ensuring the survival of Shakespeare by helping students experience the thrill of working on a Shakespeare play. Guided by a team of professional actors, students discover how Shakespeare and his characters relate to their 21st century lives. We work hand in hand with teachers, designing classes that fit the specific needs of their students and their schools. More than just helping students understand and appreciate Shakespeare, poortom teaches students how to express their own ideas and feelings with confidence and coherence. Through these unique classes students are introduced to the ideas and experiences that unite us all.
